About the Role

As a Senior Security Analyst at mercor, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and refining AI-generated outputs related to threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, and security architecture recommendations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. You will be working remotely, collaborating asynchronously with research teams to define and refine evaluation frameworks for cybersecurity AI.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing and annotating data across various cybersecurity use cases, creating realistic scenarios based on cybersecurity workflows, and providing structured feedback on AI accuracy. What You Will Do

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to threat analysis and vulnerability assessment.
  • Create realistic scenarios based on cybersecurity workflows such as incident response runbooks and threat hunting queries.
  • Annotate, label, and validate data across cybersecurity use cases like CVE classification accuracy and SIEM alert triage.
  • Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in areas such as cybersecurity frameworks and threat intelligence standards.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for cybersecurity AI.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of all evaluations and feedback provided.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of AI-generated outputs.
  • Participate in the development of best practices for AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of mercor's cybersecurity evaluation processes.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity at an enterprise organization, MSSP, consultancy, or government/defense environment.
  • Background in areas such as SOC analysis, incident response, penetration testing, threat intelligence, or security architecture.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate security operations into structured evaluation tasks.
  • Clear written communication and attention to detail.
  • Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC certifications are highly valued.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK) and threat intelligence standards (STIX/TAXII).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
