Job Description

About the Role

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to support the platform serving Wikipedia, ensuring the health and development of the underlying infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day operational/DevOps tasks on Wikimedia’s public-facing infrastructure
  • Implement and utilize configuration management and deployment tools
  • Lead continuous improvement by automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of services
  • Collaborate with product teams to bring scalable functionality to users
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response and diagnosis

Nice to Have

Experience with open source software, configuration management tools like Puppet, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is desirable.
