The Zero to One Labs team is built for speed and agility, with a focus on rapid prototyping and experimentation. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals, leading engineers through ambiguity, and ensuring that everyone is supported throughout the delivery process. You will also be expected to proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.

## What You Will Do - Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems - Support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics - Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them - Support the operations and availability of your team's artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting 'keep the lights on' and on-call efforts - Foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving code review and design standards - Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example - Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs - Lead engineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, ensuring that everyone is supported throughout delivery - Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical landscape, including emerging trends and technologies

## What We Are Looking For - A total of 4+ years of experience as a software engineer - Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes - Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue - Experience leveraging AI tools, agentic coding workflows, and automation to accelerate development, prototyping, and problem-solving - Strong experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design - Experience with AI-first tools and approaches, including AI-assisted development, agentic workflows, automation, and rapid prototyping - Strong eye for product and design, with the ability to quickly translate ideas into functional, AI-enabled prototypes - Experience working in a fast-paced, autonomous environment with a focus on speed, agility, and decisive execution

## Nice to Have - Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud - Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes - Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban - Experience with testing frameworks, such as Jest or Pytest
