Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

The role demands extreme ownership, a relentless bias for shipping over talking, and a knack for building functional software prototypes. You will have dedicated executive 'air cover' to bypass traditional corporate roadblocks, legal procurement delays, and enterprise architectural overhead. As a co-founder-level engineering role, you will be expected to take a hands-on approach to building and launching weekly prototypes, working closely with your PM counterpart to drive the technical discovery and design of net-new business concepts.

The Horizon 3 Discovery Engine is an agile builder pod that shifts code, breaks assumptions, and runs fast, low-fidelity experiments to find product market fit. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical discovery, design, API contracts, and rapid discovery of new business concepts. You will also be working closely with the Principal PM/Product Builder to build and launch weekly 'sketchy V0s' and concierge MVPs, designed strictly for speed of validated learning.

What You Will Do

• Drive the technical discovery, design, API contracts, and rapid discovery of net-new business concepts
• Collaborate with your PM counterpart to build and launch weekly 'sketchy V0s,' fake-door landing pages, and concierge MVPs
• Write clean, functional code to test hypotheses, with a willingness to completely scrap and rewrite your stack when a project is killed or pivoted
• Build fast integrations, stitch together APIs, configure authentication, and implement usage tracking and product-led analytics on the fly
• Serve as the technical expert on the team, translating emerging primitives like LLMs, multi-agent frameworks, and decentralized protocols into functional software prototypes
• Participate in discovery, joining user interviews, reviewing behavioral data, and using first-principles thinking to help decide whether to persevere, pivot, or kill a concept
• Prioritize speed over perfect architecture, leveraging modern AI development accelerators to build software at startup velocity
• Work closely with the Principal PM/Product Builder to drive the technical discovery and design of net-new business concepts
• Build and launch weekly prototypes, working closely with your PM counterpart to drive the technical discovery and design of net-new business concepts

What We Are Looking For

• Full-stack prototyping chops, with the ability to spin up frontend interfaces, spin down databases, and configure API integrations completely on your own
• Agentic AI mastery, with experience using modern AI development accelerators to build software at startup velocity
• 0-to-1 hacking experience, with a proven track record of building apps, side projects, or early-stage software features from scratch
• Data integration agility, with experience working with disparate datasets, writing quick data transformation scripts, and setting up clean analytics events
• Workflow encoding intuition, with the ability to take complex concepts and break them down into simple, functional software prototypes
• Experience working with Excel, with the ability to leverage data analysis and visualization tools to drive business insights
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive technical discovery and design
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, with a relentless bias for shipping over talking
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, with the ability to leverage cloud infrastructure to build and deploy software prototypes

• Experience working with decentralized protocols, with a deep understanding of the potential applications and limitations of blockchain technology
• Knowledge of multi-agent frameworks, with the ability to leverage these frameworks to build complex, autonomous systems
• Experience working with LLMs, with a deep understanding of the potential applications and limitations of large language models
• Familiarity with modern AI development accelerators, with the ability to leverage these tools to build software at startup velocity
