About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Metova, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions, leveraging your expertise in Java and full-stack development. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and performance. What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define and implement technical solutions
- Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring the team ships high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architectures, and APIs
- Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software systems
- Identify and prioritize technical debt, ensuring the team addresses key areas for improvement
- Develop and implement automated testing and validation frameworks
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure thorough testing and validation of software systems
- Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java and full-stack development
- Excellent proficiency in Java, including Java Spring Boot Framework and Docker
- Experience with test automation, including unit, integration, regression, and load testing
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines, including Gitlab CI/CD and Terraform
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Experience with RESTful architecture, microservices, and system design
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, including AWS, and experience with databases like Postgres
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring
Nice to Have
- Experience with messaging technologies and patterns, including Kafka and SQS
- Familiarity with ops tools, including logging, metrics, and monitoring
- Experience with cache-based low latency system design
- Strong understanding of business acumen, including market trends and industry developments
- Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
