About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer position at Speechify is a high-impact role that entails leading the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions. What You Will Do
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
- Make architecture-level decisions and drive technical direction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product, and QA
- Develop and maintain high-quality, production-ready code
- Utilize accessibility APIs on Windows to ensure inclusive and accessible applications
- Work with Excel to analyze data and inform design decisions
- Participate in agile development methodologies and contribute to the improvement of the development process
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in Windows desktop application development
- Deep understanding of Windows application architecture
- Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications
- Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals
- Experience leading technical design and making architecture-level decisions
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate tradeoffs
- Experience working with Excel and data analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
