Senior Solutions Architect

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cost-efficient, highly available, and scalable solutions for customers. This includes conducting Well-Architected reviews and Statements of Work (SoW), as well as collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure solutions are designed and developed according to best practices. Your expertise will not only contribute to the success of Automat-it's customers but also to the growth and development of the company itself.

Automat-it operates in a fast-paced environment, working with startups across EMEA and the US. As such, the ability to work in a dynamic setting, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential. Your role will also involve frequent travel, both locally and internationally, to meet with customers, partners, and attend industry events.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and implement AWS solutions for startup customers, ensuring they are cost-efficient, highly available, and scalable.
• Conduct Well-Architected reviews and create Statements of Work (SoW) for customers.
• Collaborate with account executives and other engineers to ensure solutions meet customer needs and are developed according to best practices.
• Research and analyze current solutions and initiate improvement plans to enhance performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Share knowledge with customers and the cloud community through public speaking engagements, such as workshops, conferences, and webinars.
• Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop proposals.
• Participate in the development of Automat-it's technical capabilities and contribute to the company's thought leadership in the cloud and startup ecosystem.
• Travel frequently to meet with customers, partners, and attend industry events, both locally and internationally.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation of solutions and processes.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an AWS environment, including implementation, migration, and maintenance, with a focus on designing end-to-end solutions.
• 2+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles, such as Customer Engineering, SRE, Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a production environment, developing software with languages such as Python, Go, Java, or equivalents.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS's main services, with an emphasis on Kubernetes and Containers.
• Successfully designed DevOps and Infrastructure for high-scale production environments in AWS.
• Understanding of Information Security best practices.
• Certified AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, with AWS Solutions Architect Professional or a specialty certification being an advantage.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical design in verbal and written formats in front of customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.

Nice to Have

• Experience in an IT environment, including hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps tools.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and practices.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and management.
• Participation in open-source projects or personal projects related to cloud computing.
