About the Role
The Senior Solutions Architect position at Coinbase represents a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact in the emerging on-chain platform and the future global financial system. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with customers, from startups to large institutions, as a trusted technical advisor, guiding them in building on Coinbase services and APIs. This role requires a deep understanding of both modern and legacy integration approaches, as well as the ability to design and build solutions to complex, ambiguous problems.Day-to-day, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including sales teams, product teams, and support teams, to address technical requirements, support deal closure, and ensure customer success. Your expertise in Excel and AI will be crucial in driving business-ready outputs and measuring improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
What You Will Do
- Partner with customers as a trusted technical advisor to guide them in building on Coinbase services and APIs
- Collaborate with prospects and sales teams to address technical requirements and support deal closure
- Architect and implement distributed systems solutions that address complex customer needs
- Build and maintain open source SDKs and reference implementations
- Deliver clear, engaging technical presentations and documentation
- Oversee customer implementations, proactively identifying and resolving technical roadblocks
- Maintain and grow long-term customer relationships as they expand their use of Coinbase products
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to extend core capabilities for strategic client opportunities
- Collaborate with support teams to ensure customer success
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and guides for internal and external stakeholders
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in computer science and 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Ability to quickly understand requirements and rapidly develop solutions
- Proven ability to design and build solutions to complex, ambiguous problems with significant impact
- Familiarity with both modern and legacy integration approaches
- Track record of working effectively with demanding cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex needs into actionable recommendations
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate autonomously
- Experience leveraging AI to scale and enhance contributions
- Expert-level knowledge of REST and WebSocket APIs
- Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows
Nice to Have
- Experience with Golang and/or Ruby
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
