About the Role
The Senior Solutions Architect role at Gitlab is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of the company's DevSecOps platform and the ability to guide organizations through their digital transformation journeys. As a trusted advisor to prospects and customers in the San Francisco area, you will be responsible for driving successful platform adoption and influencing revenue growth through solution selling. You will work closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to deliver technical evaluations, shape solution architectures, and serve as the voice of the customer back to Product Management.The role is part of a high-performance culture that is driven by Gitlab's values and continuous knowledge exchange. What You Will Do
- Lead technical discovery, demos, and validation to show how Gitlab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform meets customers' technical and business needs
- Drive the technical evaluation process, including solution design, POC/POV ownership, workshop design, and the technical components of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments
- Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape and execute account strategies that support new customer acquisition and expansion
- Build and deepen relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders, guiding them through Gitlab-driven digital transformation and enabling them to become Gitlab advocates
- Advise customers on modern software development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud practices, challenging existing approaches to improve return on investment
- Serve as the voice of the customer with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing by sharing feedback, use cases, and competitive insights that inform roadmap and positioning
- Maintain and extend your technical expertise in Gitlab, DevSecOps, and related technologies
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to customers and internal stakeholders
- Participate in industry conferences and events to promote Gitlab and establish thought leadership
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in a solutions architecture or consulting capacity
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, software development, and cloud computing
- Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both business and technical stakeholders
- Experience with AI-powered DevSecOps platforms, preferably Gitlab
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of security and compliance practices, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR
- Experience with data analytics and machine learning
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Certification in a relevant technical field, such as CompTIA Security+ or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
