Senior Solutions Architect - West

About the Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to guide technical strategy for opportunities in North America. You will bring customer insight back to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, contributing to the development of Gitlab's products and services. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect Manager, you will be part of a team that values innovation, efficiency, and impact.

The first year in this role will be focused on guiding high-value technical engagements, enabling successful platform adoption, shaping multi-team transformation strategies, mentoring other Solutions Architects, and helping customers see Gitlab's differentiated value in an evolving AI and DevSecOps market. This is a senior role that requires broad scope, complex customer environment management, and high-impact technical judgment.

What You Will Do

• Guide technical discovery, product demonstrations, and validation activities to confirm technical fit and accelerate evaluation milestones for Gitlab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform.
• Own the technical evaluation process for complex opportunities, including solution design, workshop facilitation, proof of concept or proof of value execution, and technical materials for tenders, audits, and assessments.
• Develop end-to-end technical strategies for assigned accounts that expand platform adoption, reduce delivery risk, and enable multi-team and multi-year transformation milestones.
• Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams in North America to shape account and territory plans, support qualification, and align technical strategy to customer priorities.
• Act as a strategic technical partner for assigned accounts, guiding complex evaluations and shaping long-term architecture choices.
• Mentor other Solutions Architects to enhance their skills and knowledge in AI-powered DevSecOps.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, to bring customer insight and contribute to product development.
• Guide technical strategy for opportunities in North America, focusing on high-value technical engagements and successful platform adoption.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Gitlab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform and its applications.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitors, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role, preferably in the DevSecOps or software development industry.
• Strong technical background with the ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-powered DevSecOps platforms and their applications in software development lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to guide technical strategy and drive business growth.
• Experience in guiding complex evaluations, shaping long-term architecture choices, and aiding customers in modernizing their software development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
