About the Role
The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care through telephonic interactions. As part of the Specialty Clinical Team, you will work closely with patients to assess and evaluate their conditions, develop comprehensive care plans, and provide medication education. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure patients achieve and maintain wellness, while demonstrating clinical expertise and a commitment to exceptional patient care.The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist will report to a Supervising Specialty Operations Pharmacist and will be an integral part of a team that prioritizes patient-centric care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing inbound and outbound calls to patients, reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, and utilizing electronic resources to inform professional decision-making.

What You Will Do
- Assess and evaluate patient conditions through telephonic interactions to develop comprehensive care plans
- Manage inbound and outbound calls to patients to discuss medication therapy, side effect management, and adverse event reporting
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and check for drug-drug interactions
- Evaluate the appropriateness of disease state, dosage, directions, and therapy
- Utilize electronic resources and guidelines to inform professional decision-making
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans to ensure patients achieve and maintain wellness
- Monitor patient progress through regular assessments and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide medication education to patients and families
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet department goals and drive positive patient outcomes
- Participate in training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices
What We Are Looking For
- Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (PharmD)
- Active Pharmacist license from the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio, or Arizona Board of Pharmacy without restrictions or disciplinary action
- Minimum three years of experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume retail, hospital, or mail-order pharmacy practice environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
- Ability to navigate multiple systems, platforms, and troubleshoot technical difficulties in a remote environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and a patient-centric approach
Nice to Have
- Pharmacist Board Certification – Oncology, Specialty, Geriatric, Pharmacotherapy, and Ambulatory
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Previous experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting
- Previous experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM)
- Previous commercial, Medicare, or Medicaid experience
