Senior / Staff Product Designer

About the Role

The role entails working closely with engineers and product teams to initiate and complete projects, from conceptualization to deployment. You will have the autonomy to identify areas for redesign, refine existing screens and flows, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the product. Your expertise in design will not only enhance the user experience but also influence the technical discussions that shape the product's development.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to initiate and complete roadmap projects without hand-offs, ensuring seamless integration of design and technical capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, focusing on enhancing the user experience and addressing smaller quality issues.
• Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution, utilizing tools like Figma and potentially AI-driven design technologies.
• Engage in collaborative critique of work-in-progress with fellow designers to guide and inspire the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the company's lightweight design system components, ensuring consistency and quality across the product.
• Participate in the hiring process for new design teammates, helping to elevate the team's capabilities and the product's quality.
• Utilize Figma and other design tools for prototyping, with the potential to explore beyond traditional design software, incorporating technologies like HTML/CSS and Origami into your workflow.
• Distill complex problems and feedback into clear, focused design solutions, demonstrating effective communication and problem-solving skills.

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 7 years of experience designing software, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to craft high-quality, user-centered design solutions.
• Courage to ask questions, experiment with new approaches, and advocate for design decisions that align with the company's quality-first philosophy.
• Humility to accept feedback, adapt your thinking, and iterate towards the best solution, demonstrating a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Experience with Figma for prototyping, as well as familiarity with other design and development tools such as AI, HTML/CSS, and Origami.
• Ability to distill problems and feedback into clear, focused design solutions, with effective written and verbal communication skills for async collaboration.
• A proven track record of collaborating effectively in a remote setting, with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to team goals.
