About the Role
As a Senior Staff Product Designer for Risk at Stripe, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of how businesses interact with Stripe's financial infrastructure platform. You'll lead design across critical Risk experiences, working closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define and deliver user-facing experiences that drive business growth and trust. The Risk team is responsible for designing experiences that help users onboard quickly, stay compliant, and manage risk with clarity and control.The role sits at the intersection of building trust in the internet economy, platform design, and new product creation. You'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy for new products, define AI-driven and agent-friendly workflows, and set design standards for the team. This is a strategically important design opportunity that will have a significant impact on Stripe's mission to increase the GDP of the internet.
What You Will Do
- Shape the future of Risk at Stripe, from core user journeys to entirely new product surfaces
- Design experiences that help users onboard quickly, stay compliant, and manage risk with clarity and control
- Partner with product, engineering, policy, operations, and research to define both near-term improvements and longer-term opportunities
- Raise the craft bar in a domain where quality and trust matter deeply
- Work across dozens of teams to create beautiful patterns for risk and compliance experiences across Stripe
- Explore, shape, and prototype new ideas and products
- Influence strategy through strong product thinking, storytelling, and design judgment
- Lead design on complex, cross-functional problems with multiple stakeholders and constraints
- Collaborate across the Risk team and the broader organization to drive design excellence
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on platform design and product creation
- Portfolio that showcases your ability to design complex, user-centered experiences
- Strong product thinking and design judgment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and research
- Strong understanding of design principles and human-centered design
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
