Job Description

About the Role

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at GE Vernova, you will play a crucial role in driving quality for assigned suppliers, including implementing quality plans and conducting audits to ensure compliance. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of best practices in supplier quality management, as well as experience working with large forged parts and commodity expertise in materials, forging, and non-destructive examination. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable project execution excellence and drive quality initiatives to continually improve supplier quality.

What You Will Do

  • Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation and audits to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with engineering and sourcing teams to select and approve suppliers through approval and qualification processes
  • Own supplier assessments, part/process qualification, and supplier results, driving improvements utilizing supplier scorecards
  • Manage new supplier identification and development, as well as new technology introduction and qualification
  • Lead supplier quality reviews and provide technical support to sourcing, manufacturing, and engineering teams
  • Perform and lead customer witness/inspection meetings at suppliers
  • Develop and conduct SQE training and lead effort to reduce COQ and product DPMO
  • Execute surveillance audits as per agreed plans and identify and lead process capability initiatives
  • Monitor supplier scorecards and ensure accuracy, driving root cause identification for cost of failure and defect rate for suppliers

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant field
  • Significant experience in supplier quality or equivalent experience, preferably in a related industry
  • Proven technical aptitude and excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Project management skills and experience working with commodity expertise in materials, forging, and non-destructive examination
  • English fluency and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Experience working with Excel and other relevant tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with large forged parts and knowledge of best practices in supplier quality management
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as quality management or engineering
