About the Role

The Senior Supply Planner at SOLV Energy plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to project sites. This position entails developing and maintaining project-specific supply plans, guiding purchasing and inventory movement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. As a key member of the procurement operations team, the Senior Supply Planner will work closely with project management, scheduling, engineering, and field teams to align material delivery schedules with project timelines.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the solar industry, including utility-scale solar projects, and experience in managing equipment and materials procurement. The ability to analyze engineering and schedule scenarios to recommend optimal procurement strategies is crucial, as is the ability to maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Senior Supply Planner will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects within an operational region, serving as the primary procurement liaison to cross-functional project teams. This includes supporting engineering and preconstruction teams to finalize Bills of Materials (BOMs) and aligning material delivery schedules with project timelines.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain project-specific supply plans to guide purchasing and inventory movement
  • Collaborate with project management, scheduling, engineering, and field teams to align material delivery schedules with project timelines
  • Analyze engineering and schedule scenarios to recommend optimal procurement strategies
  • Create, review, and manage purchase requisitions in alignment with approved supply plans
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop dashboards that provide real-time visibility into purchasing status and delivery timelines
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support efficient and responsive procurement operations
  • Review material usage data and make recommendations for inventory plans and inventory purchasing strategy
  • Support engineering through revisions on supply planned major equipment
  • Lead project meetings with project management, scheduling, engineering, and field teams to provide detailed material information
  • Scenario analysis and optimization to balance cost and delivery

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement operations, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to create complex assemblies of materials in coordination with engineering teams
  • Experience with utility-scale solar projects, including PV, HV, BESS, and SCADA systems
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in purchasing, supply chain planning, and project execution
  • Ability to define and trade material alternatives that meet technical requirements
  • Experience creating and maintaining a standardized portfolio of materials

Nice to Have

  • Experience with sub-assemblies, AC and/or DC wiring, BESS equipment, HV equipment, or other configurations on utility-scale PV systems
  • Knowledge of technical areas relevant to utility-scale PV systems, ESS systems, SCADA, and HV substation
  • Certification in supply chain management or a related field
  • Experience working in a fully remote environment
