About the Role

The Senior Systems Design Engineer position at Sentrillion is a leadership role that requires overseeing a team of engineers in the development, execution, and quality assurance of complex system designs for government contracts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the creation and implementation of security solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding their team through the entire project lifecycle, from initial design phases through to testing and integration.

As a key member of the engineering team, the Senior Systems Design Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. This involves not only technical expertise but also strong leadership and project management skills, as the role entails supervising a team of engineers and coordinating with other departments as necessary.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop complex systems, focusing on security solutions for government contracts
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight
  • Conduct quality assurance and testing to ensure all systems meet the required standards
  • Prepare and manage project bids and proposals
  • Coordinate and execute systems verification testing and product/integration testing
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues in system design and implementation
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in system design and security solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in electronic and/or security system design
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems, security solutions, fiber optics, and/or electrical technical areas
  • At least 3 years of experience in System Design
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Security Clearance preferred (DOD Secret or a Customs and Border Protection BI)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with technical writing and strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and configuration
  • Familiarity with IP cameras design and installation

  • Experience with various test instruments

  • Certification in a related field (e.g., CISSP, CEH)
