As a key member of the tax team, the Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all tax laws and regulations. This role also involves conducting research on tax-related matters, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws, and providing guidance to clients on tax planning and strategy.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns, including complex returns and those requiring specialized knowledge
  • Review simple tax returns and support the preparation of tax workpapers
  • Manage assigned tax tasks, timelines, and open items to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Communicate with clients on tax questions, deadlines, and deliverables, providing clear and concise explanations of technical tax concepts
  • Conduct research on tax issues and summarize findings in a clear and actionable manner
  • Support tax planning for entrepreneurs and business owners, including identifying opportunities for tax savings and compliance
  • Track client deliverables and follow up on missing items to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Coordinate with partners and managers on client work, ensuring seamless delivery of tax services
  • Manage competing priorities during peak tax seasons, working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of public accounting tax experience within a small to mid-sized CPA firm
  • EA or active CPA certification, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
  • Experience with individual and business tax returns, including complex returns and those requiring specialized knowledge
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets
  • Client-facing tax communication experience, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with enterprise tax software and practice management tools
  • Ability to work 60-70 hours during peak tax seasons, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure
