About the Role

The Senior Technical Accountant role at Webflow is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of complex accounting areas, including stock-based compensation, capitalized commissions, and internally developed software. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP and developing financial statements that accurately reflect the company's financial position. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, to drive process improvements and deliver audit-ready financial statements.

What You Will Do

  • Own technical accounting areas, including stock-based compensation, equity modifications, intangibles, and leases, and ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical accounting documentation, including accounting positions and supporting calculations
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and statement of stockholders' equity
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, to drive process improvements and deliver audit-ready financial statements
  • Research and interpret new accounting standards and regulations, and implement changes as necessary
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and other documentation to support financial statement disclosures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, FP&A, and Legal, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Webflow's business operations and financial performance, and provide technical accounting guidance and support as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in a similar industry or company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with complex accounting areas, including stock-based compensation and internally developed software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and review, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience with accounting software and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, including ASC 820 and ASC 842
  • Experience with technical accounting documentation and supporting calculations
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel and Tableau
