About the Role

The Senior Technical Claims Specialist plays a critical role in determining coverage, investigating complex Commercial Casualty claims, and negotiating settlements. What You Will Do

  • Determine coverage for complex Commercial Casualty claims
  • Investigate claims, gathering all necessary information and evidence
  • Set and adjust reserves as needed
  • Evaluate claims, assessing liability and potential outcomes
  • Negotiate settlements with all parties involved
  • Authorize and pay claims, or deny them if necessary
  • Review lawsuit documentation and supporting documents
  • Establish actions to be taken to resolve lawsuits
  • Determine loss coverage, amounts owed, and discovery plans
  • Set reserves and negotiate with opposing parties
  • Manage the practices and billing activities of outside counsel
  • Ensure the security of financial processing of claims and sensitive information
  • Train and mentor staff as needed
  • Manage relationships with various business partners
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, including changes in legislation and court decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 5-7 years of claims adjusting experience, preferably in Commercial Casualty
  • Advanced knowledge of Commercial Casualty claims investigation, coverage evaluation, reserving, and expense management
  • Strong negotiation and litigation management skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer focus skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate to advanced level of skill in areas such as customer focus, problem-solving, communications, gaining support, teamwork, and adaptability
  • Experience with complex Commercial Claims, Shared Economy, and significant client involvement

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with rideshare accounts or similar shared economy claims
  • Knowledge of insurance legal and regulatory environments
