About the Role
The Senior Technical Curriculum Developer will play a crucial role in Datadog's Customer Education & Training team, responsible for creating high-quality learning content for customers and partners. This includes developing training courses, hands-on labs, and certifications for the Datadog Learning Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, with experience in developing online learning content for a technical audience.As a Senior Technical Curriculum Developer, you will work closely with the engineering and product teams to design and deliver engaging training programs that meet the needs of Datadog's customers. Your expertise in cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes will be essential in creating relevant and effective learning content.
What You Will Do
- Partner with cloud engineering and product teams to produce high-quality training courses and content for Datadog's customer and partner curriculums
- Collaborate with other team members to evaluate customer training requirements and create a roadmap with clearly scoped courses and well-defined learning paths
- Create high-quality courses that can be delivered both as self-paced online programs or instructor-led training
- Develop supplemental and supporting courseware and documentation, including workshops, hands-on labs, and webinars
- Create, maintain, and improve the technical systems and environments used in hands-on labs
- Mentor existing staff in cloud engineering best practices, instructional design insights, and technical collaboration
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud infrastructure and adjust the learning content accordingly
- Work with the team to design and implement a comprehensive training strategy that meets the needs of Datadog's customers
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in building online learning curriculum, hands-on labs, and instructor-led training material for a cloud engineering and software developer audience
- Hands-on experience or specialized knowledge in building learning content for devops and software development professionals in the cloud
- Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, any .NET language, Go, JavaScript)
- Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, with experience in developing online learning content for a technical audience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in improving training operations, including design, efficiency, and functionality of the Learning Center and internal tooling
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with service mesh, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experience with developing learning content for a global audience
- Certification in cloud infrastructure or a related field
