About the Role

The Senior Underwriter position at Amynta Group is a critical role that involves reviewing Canadian R&W opportunities to determine their quotability. This role requires a deep understanding of the Canadian market, regulatory compliance, and the ability to analyze complex risks. The successful candidate will work closely with the underwriting team to ensure that all opportunities are thoroughly vetted and that policies are issued in a timely and efficient manner.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a key role in establishing Ambridge's local presence in Canada. This will involve engaging in marketing efforts to raise the company's profile and build relationships with potential clients. You will also be responsible for conducting due diligence on potential risks, including coordinating with Vetting Counsel and preparing conference call agendas.

What You Will Do

  • Review Canadian R&W opportunities to determine their quotability, with a focus on analyzing complex risks and identifying potential areas of concern.
  • Assist in file completions and policy issuance, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Engage in marketing efforts to establish Ambridge's local presence in Canada, including building relationships with potential clients and raising the company's profile.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential risks, including coordinating with Vetting Counsel and preparing conference call agendas.
  • Take notes during underwriting calls with proposed insureds and their advisors to discuss the risk to be insured.
  • Begin preparing conference call agendas and other documentation as needed.
  • Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure that all opportunities are thoroughly vetted and that policies are issued in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas of risk and opportunity, and make recommendations to the underwriting team accordingly.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the Canadian R&W market and regulatory environment, and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in the Canadian R&W market.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex risks and identify potential areas of concern.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with potential clients and work effectively with the underwriting team.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues in the Canadian R&W market.
  • Experience with Adjust or other underwriting software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business or finance.
