About the Role
The Senior Vice President of Paid Media at Directive is a senior leadership role that oversees aAs a leader of leaders, the Senior Vice President will be a senior inspector of work at decisive moments and a coach to middle managers who are learning to inspect work themselves. The fundamental model of this role is a dual posture: personal inspection at the moments that matter most to clients and operational leverage through Associate Directors at other times.
The Senior Vice President will be responsible for inspecting work at key moments in the client engagement, including sales-to-ops handoff, kickoff calls, project phase, NSM setting, weekly updates, monthly updates, QBRs, and 6-month strategy reviews. The goal is to ensure that the team is producing high-quality work that meets client needs and drives business growth.
What You Will Do
- Inspect work at key moments in the client engagement, including sales-to-ops handoff, kickoff calls, project phase, NSM setting, weekly updates, monthly updates, QBRs, and 6-month strategy reviews
- Lead a team of Associate Directors who manage billable consultants executing day-to-day tasks
- Develop Associate Directors into real inspectors of work, not just project managers who run status meetings
- Run a consistent operating cadence with each Associate Director, including regular reviews and escalations
- Define what a great paid media strategy, creative brief, and programmatic plan look like and hold team members accountable to that standard
- Own the renewal conversation for priority accounts and ensure commercial terms and relationship health are set up for 12-month lock-in
- Attend QBRs for priority or at-risk accounts and pressure-test QBR decks before they go to the client
- Inspect strategy recalibration work and ensure the team is evolving the strategy based on real data, not inertia
- Lead or co-lead ABRs for top accounts and make the case for renewal and expansion
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in paid media, programmatic, or a related field
- Proven track record of success in driving commercial outcomes and client retention
- Strong understanding of the Canadian market and business landscape
- Experience leading a team of Associate Directors or similar roles
- Ability to inspect work at key moments in the client engagement and provide feedback and coaching to team members
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with programmatic and paid media platforms and tools
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Certification in paid media or programmatic, such as Google Ads or Facebook Blueprint
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
