About the Role
The Senior Vice President of Paid Media at Directive is a pivotal role that oversees aThe Senior Vice President of Paid Media is a leader of leaders, responsible for inspecting work at decisive moments and coaching middle managers to develop their inspection skills. This dual-posture approach requires the SVP to be personally present at key moments in the client engagement, such as sales-to-ops handoffs, kickoff calls, and quarterly business reviews, while also leveraging Associate Directors to handle operational tasks.
The success of this role depends on the ability to define and uphold high standards for each pillar, ensuring that Strategists and Associate Directors are accountable for delivering exceptional work.
What You Will Do
- Inspect work at critical moments in the client engagement, including sales-to-ops handoffs, kickoff calls, and quarterly business reviews
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client commercial objectives and ensure that delivery teams have a complete picture of these objectives
- Ensure scope, success metrics, and NSM alignment are calibrated before the start of each client engagement
- Validate North Star Metrics for every engagement above the designated threshold
- Spot-check weekly updates on priority clients and coach Associate Directors on effective communication
- Review monthly operational output on priority clients for substance, clarity, and connection to client business outcomes
- Pressure-test QBR decks before they are presented to clients and attend QBRs for priority or at-risk accounts
- Inspect strategy recalibration work to ensure teams are evolving strategies based on real data
- Lead or co-lead annual business reviews for top accounts and own renewal conversations for priority accounts
- Define and uphold high standards for Paid Media, Programmatic, and Creative pillars
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in paid media, with a strong background in programmatic and creative strategies
- Proven track record of driving commercial outcomes and ensuring client retention
- Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, including Associate Directors and Strategists
- Deep understanding of client commercial objectives and the ability to develop effective strategies to meet these objectives
- Strong inspection and coaching skills, with the ability to develop Associate Directors into effective inspectors of work
- Experience with paid media channels, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Nice to Have
- Experience with creative briefs and the ability to stress-test these briefs for effectiveness
- Knowledge of North Star Metrics and the ability to validate these metrics for client engagements
- Experience with quarterly business reviews and the ability to pressure-test QBR decks
- Strong understanding of programmatic strategies and the ability to inspect programmatic plans for effectiveness
