About the Role
As a Senior Web Developer at Great Minds, you will play a crucial role in developing modern, responsive, and secure websites that support the company's mission to provide high-quality educational materials. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include building reusable UI components, creating responsive and accessible templates, and implementing modern build tools and workflows. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, and other developers, to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.The Senior Web Developer role is part of the company's efforts to build more connected, customer-informed experiences across the full educator journey. As such, you will be expected to develop and maintain custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks, and integrate with the WordPress REST API and/or GraphQL for dynamic and headless implementations. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's ability to deliver high-quality educational materials to thousands of schools and districts nationwide.

What You Will Do
- Develop modern, responsive, and secure websites using WordPress, HubSpot, and Salesforce
- Build reusable UI components using React, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and Storybook
- Create responsive, accessible, and semantic templates that align with brand and UX standards
- Implement modern build tools and workflows, such as Webpack and Vite
- Develop and maintain custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks
- Integrate with the WordPress REST API and/or GraphQL for dynamic and headless implementations
- Apply WordPress hardening and follow OWASP Top 10 best practices to ensure security and performance
- Optimize for Core Web Vitals, including LCP, CLS, and INP, with caching, code splitting, and image/CDN optimization
- Implement clean HTML, heading hierarchy, and crawlable templates for SEO and AEO
- Ensure proper use of meta tags, canonical tags, robots directives, and XML sitemaps
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in web development, with a focus on front-end development and WordPress
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP
- Experience with React, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and Storybook
- Knowledge of WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks
- Familiarity with HubSpot and Salesforce
- Experience with modern build tools and workflows, such as Webpack and Vite
- Strong understanding of security and performance best practices, including OWASP Top 10
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and custom post types
- Knowledge of GraphQL and headless WordPress implementations
- Familiarity with SEO and AEO best practices
- Experience with code review and testing
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and standards
