About the Role

The SEO & AEO Strategist is a pivotal role at Gorgias, focusing on the development and execution of strategies that enhance the company's presence across both traditional and AI-driven search platforms. This role is integral to Gorgias's mission to revolutionize conversational commerce, making shopping experiences more personal, seamless, and intelligent. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about turning every interaction between brands and their customers into meaningful relationships.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role involve a deep understanding of how content is structured, discovered, and surfaced across various search engines and AI platforms. This includes optimizing content for both human and machine readability, ensuring that Gorgias's brand voice and expertise are consistently represented across all touchpoints.

What You Will Do

  • Design and scale machine-readable, high-performing content optimized for Google and AI platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
  • Own and execute on-page, off-page, and technical SEO strategies to improve search rankings and drive organic traffic.
  • Develop and implement entity-based SEO and semantic search strategies to enhance brand visibility.
  • Operate and optimize programmatic SEO at scale across comparison and integration pages.
  • Structure content for featured snippets, knowledge panels, and AI summaries to improve search engine results page (SERP) presence.
  • Implement and refine structured data (FAQ, HowTo, Product, etc.) to make content more discoverable by search engines and AI systems.
  • Partner with content and product marketing teams to build high-performing, intent-driven content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Build topic clusters and authority around key themes relevant to Gorgias's business and industry.
  • Define guidelines for AI-friendly, citation-worthy content that aligns with Gorgias's brand voice and expertise.
  • Monitor and analyze performance using tools like GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering on Core Web Vitals, indexing, and technical improvements to ensure website performance and search engine crawlability.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–6+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, or search marketing, with a strong focus on technical SEO and AI-driven workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like AirOps, Profound, or equivalent technologies.
  • Ability to walk through an SEO/AEO project end-to-end and articulate its revenue impact.
  • Strong technical SEO fundamentals: crawlability, indexing, schema, site performance.
  • Experience optimizing for AI assistants and LLM-driven search experiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with content management systems and HTML/CSS.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and its relevance to SEO and AEO strategies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Google Ads and SEMrush for paid media management.
  • Familiarity with programmatic SEO tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of entity-based optimization and semantic search strategies.
  • Experience with AEO measurement tools like Profound and AirOps.
