About the Role

The SEO Consultant position at Right Side Up is a unique opportunity for marketers who combine technical expertise with content strategy to drive organic growth and improve search visibility. As a member of Right Side Up's talent collective, you will support a range of clients across industries, working on projects that may include technical SEO audits, content strategy development, keyword research, on-page optimization, and scaling organic acquisition channels. Contract engagements typically range from 10–40 hours per week, providing the flexibility to work on multiple projects and clients.

As an SEO Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting technical SEO audits and implementing recommendations to improve site health and performance. You will also partner with content, product, and engineering teams to implement SEO best practices and monitor and analyze organic performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO platforms.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct technical SEO audits and implement recommendations to improve site health and performance
  • Perform keyword research and develop SEO-driven content strategies
  • Optimize on-page elements including metadata, internal linking, and site structure
  • Partner with content, product, and engineering teams to implement SEO best practices
  • Monitor and analyze organic performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO platforms
  • Identify opportunities to increase rankings, traffic, and conversions
  • Support content creation with SEO insights and best practices
  • Stay up to date on search algorithm changes and industry trends
  • Develop and implement link building strategies to improve domain authority
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong foundation in SEO, including technical, on-page, and content-driven strategies
  • Experience improving organic traffic and search rankings
  • Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console)
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Experience working cross-functionally with content, product, and engineering teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Comfort working across different industries and website types
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in SEO or related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello)
  • Certification in SEO or related field (e.g., Google Analytics)
