Job Description

About the Role

The Service Technical Support VII – Remote Monitoring role is a critical position at Vertiv, requiring a skilled professional to perform parametric analysis and diagnosis of events and alarms from customer equipment via remote monitoring. This role entails creating preventive maintenance reports for batteries and UPS systems, tracking performance, and providing recommendations to optimize the system. As a key member of the technical support team, the successful candidate will work closely with engineering and product teams to contribute valuable insights and improve products and services.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include monitoring, logging, and responding to alarms and events, ensuring timely tracking and resolution of incidents from start to closure. The candidate will also conduct in-depth parametric analysis and diagnostics, assisting junior engineers when needed, and analyze equipment data trends to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor, log, and respond to alarms and events from customer equipment via remote monitoring
  • Create preventive maintenance reports for batteries and UPS systems, including tracking performance and providing recommendations to optimize the system
  • Conduct in-depth parametric analysis and diagnostics of events and alarms
  • Assist junior engineers with analysis and diagnostics as needed
  • Analyze equipment data trends to identify and address potential issues before they escalate
  • Provide technical support for Site Level Monitoring/Building Management System
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to update them on incident status and resolutions via email and phone
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to contribute valuable insights and improve products and services
  • Generate and review specialized reports, including battery and UPS preventive maintenance reports
  • Ensure all support documentation is up to date and accessible

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineer or ECE or directly related degree
  • Associates in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/ECE Engineering with 1-2 years’ experience considered
  • Good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills (Fluent in spoken and written English)
  • Team-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Strong technical skills, including automation and data analysis
  • Experience with remote monitoring systems and equipment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PowerBI, Smartsheet, or other data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of Oracle PLM or other project management software
  • Certification in a related field, such as mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Experience with CAD or other design software
