What You Will Do

• Develop custom Shopify themes and apps that meet the specific needs of clients, utilizing Liquid templating and Shopify Theme development expertise.
• Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the customer experience.
• Work with strategists to understand client objectives and develop solutions that align with their business goals.
• Implement headless commerce solutions using Shopify Plus, ensuring seamless integrations with third-party services and APIs.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and best practices are followed across the team.
• Contribute to the development of Shopify apps, both public and private, to extend the functionalities of Shopify stores.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during project implementation.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs with Shopify stores to enhance functionality and performance.
• Develop and maintain documentation of Shopify projects, including custom themes, apps, and integrations.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Shopify and related technologies, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Mentor junior team members on Shopify development best practices and contribute to the growth of the team's technical capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in developing on the Shopify platform, with a strong portfolio of custom themes and apps.
• Proficiency in Liquid templating and Shopify Theme development, with the ability to create custom solutions.
• Strong skills in JavaScript, React, and modern front-end technologies, with experience in implementing headless commerce solutions.
• Understanding of eCommerce fundamentals and best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in developing solutions.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to work efficiently with teammates and clients.
• Inclusive, community-driven mindset with an eagerness to learn and share knowledge.
• Proficiency with Shopify Plus and the Shopify API, with experience in developing custom apps and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify app development, including both public and private apps.
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, useful for custom Shopify app development, though not essential.
• Experience with Shopify's checkout extensions and customizations, with the ability to implement tailored solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify's Hydrogen framework and headless commerce approaches, with an understanding of how to leverage these technologies for innovative solutions.
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI and Theme Kit, with experience in using these tools for efficient theme and app development.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and Shopify's Admin API, with the ability to integrate these technologies into project implementations.
• Past experience in consulting or client management, with an understanding of how to manage client relationships and deliver projects that meet their needs.
