## About the Role The Short-Form & VSL Video Editor role at Sun Coast Sciences is a full-time remote contractor position that requires a skilled and reliable editor to produce high-quality video content across various platforms, including YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing Operations team to create engaging short-form and long-form content that drives real results. With a focus on science-backed skincare products, the company is dedicated to creating content that stops the scroll and resonates with its audience. As a key member of the team, the Video Editor will be responsible for editing raw footage into polished content that meets the company's high standards. This will involve collaborating with the marketing team, managing multiple projects with fast turnaround times, and iterating on edits based on feedback and performance data. The company is growing quickly and investing heavily in video, making this an exciting opportunity for a talented editor to join a dynamic team and contribute to the company's mission.
## What You Will Do - Edit short-form content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) designed for engagement and retention - Edit long-form YouTube videos (talking head, tutorials, and story-driven content) - Add captions, motion graphics, transitions, sound design, and color grading to enhance video content - Work from creative briefs and occasionally help shape them - Collaborate with the marketing team during US business hours (EST–PST, your choice) - Manage multiple projects with fast turnaround times - Iterate on edits based on feedback and performance data - Partner with the marketing team to develop and implement video content strategies - Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing trends and technologies
## What We Are Looking For - Strong English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate confidently with a US-based team daily - 4+ years of professional video editing experience working with brands, agencies, creators, or performance-focused media teams - Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar editing software - A strong portfolio showcasing short-form content optimized for engagement, retention, and conversions - Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, retention curves, and direct-response or eCommerce-style editing - Ability to take ownership of projects, manage deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced remote environment - Reliable internet and a capable editing setup
## Nice to Have - Experience with AI video tools (SORA, Kling, Runway, etc.) - Graphic design skills (thumbnails, social assets, lower thirds) - Podcast editing experience
