Job Description

About the Role

The Site Project Director will play a crucial role in delivering GE Vernova's program execution strategy, leading a team of project management professionals to achieve financial targets. This position requires a deep understanding of program development, costs, and risks, as well as cross-functional leadership skills to drive vital focus and accountability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the coalition of Engineering, Project Delivery, Supply Chain and Sourcing, Contract Management, Quality Assurance, Safety, Start-Up, and Commissioning.

As a key member of the team, the Site Project Director will work closely with the ITO Lead and Construction Lead to develop the Project Execution Plan and Construction Execution Plan. This role will also involve reporting directly to the corporate Site Operations Leader and providing regular progress updates to the Program Office.

What You Will Do

  • Provide single-point accountability for the delivery of a 5-unit new nuclear site, including all aspects of project execution
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan and Construction Execution Plan
  • Manage cross-functional efforts to deliver the program on time and on budget
  • Identify, manage, and communicate issues that may impact the program
  • Work closely with stakeholders and partners to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and manage the program budget, including costs and risks
  • Lead and manage a team of project management professionals
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Program Office and corporate Site Operations Leader
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the program

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 15 years of experience in a technical "power" related business
  • 10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry
  • 5+ years of experience in major project management
  • Extensive understanding of power generation and the nuclear industry
  • Mega project experience
  • Major nuclear project experience
  • Significant experience in a senior management role
  • Superior leadership, interpersonal, and strategic skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to break down barriers and improve cross-functional collaboration
  • Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills at all levels
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with project management tools and software
  • Certification in project management, such as PMP or Agile
  • Experience with nuclear industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and trends
