Job Description

About the Role

The SIU PIP Investigator role at Allstate involves conducting thorough investigations into complex Michigan PIP claims that have been referred to the special investigation unit for potential fraud. As a key member of the team, you will handle a combination of complex attorney-represented and unrepresented claims, as well as moderate to complex losses, where suspicious activity has been identified. Your primary goal will be to determine whether fraud can be substantiated and support a lawsuit.

In this role, you will work closely with other teams to gather information, conduct site inspections, and analyze medical records. Your findings will be crucial in helping Allstate make informed decisions about claims and protecting the company's interests.

As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, utilizing digital tools and technologies to conduct investigations and collaborate with colleagues.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct background searches, scene investigations, and clinic inspections to gather information
  • Take recorded statements from claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties
  • Review and analyze medical notes, bills, and property damage to identify potential discrepancies
  • Conduct witness interviews and social media searches to gather evidence
  • Perform surveillance on property and create scene reconstructions as needed
  • Enter SIU claim data into multiple systems and review investigations with fraud outcomes
  • Update files with investigation outcomes and return files to MCO for further handling and settlement
  • Conduct complex online data application searches, research, and evaluation
  • Validate the information provided and obtained through investigation, following up on all possible leads
  • Utilize analytic tools or SIU field intelligence to identify complex claims for investigation and support
