About the Role

The Small Business Account Executive role at MPLC presents a unique opportunity for sales professionals to combine their passion for digital content with their expertise in licensing and copyright law. As a key member of the outbound sales team, you will be responsible for driving growth by securing new business accounts and ensuring that companies have the necessary licenses to show movies and TV content in public and commercial spaces. This role is ideal for individuals who are self-motivated, resilient, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include managing a high-volume outbound sales desk, with a focus on prospecting, cold calling, and closing new small to medium-sized business (SMB) accounts across the United States. You will own the full sales cycle, from initial contact to closing deals, and will be expected to consistently meet or exceed your sales targets. Your success will be measured by your ability to grow MPLC's customer base, drive revenue, and contribute to the company's mission of protecting intellectual property rights.

As part of the MPLC team, you will be working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Although the role is fully remote, you will be in regular contact with your colleagues and will be expected to participate in team meetings and training sessions. Your performance will be supported by a comprehensive onboarding program, ongoing training, and access to the latest sales tools and technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and other outreach efforts
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients, with a focus on small to medium-sized businesses
  • Conduct needs assessments with potential clients to determine their licensing requirements
  • Present licensing solutions to potential clients and negotiate deals
  • Manage and close sales deals, ensuring that all necessary paperwork and contracts are completed
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to track leads, manage pipelines, and analyze sales performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the marketing and customer success teams, to stay informed about new products and services
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to continuously improve sales skills and knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and changes in copyright law

  • Experience with Salesforce and other sales tools, including CRM software and sales analytics platforms

  • A deep understanding of the entertainment and intellectual property ecosystem, including copyright law and licensing agreements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cold calling and high-volume outbound sales
  • Familiarity with the movie and TV industry, including current trends and developments
  • Knowledge of additional sales tools, such as Outreach and Gong
  • Certification in sales or a related field, such as the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) designation
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
