About the Role
The Social Media Content Specialist role is a creative and dynamic position that requires a self-starter with a passion for social media and the outdoors. As a member of the Social Team, this individual will be responsible for conceiving, creating, editing, and publishing high-quality content that showcases the AllTrails brand. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of platform-native content and the ability to develop and execute a social content calendar that drives engagement and inspires people to join in.The Social Media Content Specialist will work closely with designers, marketers, and cross-functional partners to bring campaigns, launches, and key moments to life. This role requires a collaborative and curious individual who is eager to learn and grow, with a strong understanding of short-form video and platform-native storytelling.

What You Will Do
- Concept, create, and edit platform-native social content, with a primary focus on Instagram and TikTok
- Develop and execute the social content calendar, ensuring timely, on-brand, and culturally relevant publishing
- Spot, adapt, and experiment with trends, formats, and cultural moments in ways that feel natural to AllTrails
- Write clear, engaging captions and short-form copy that sounds human, inviting, and unmistakably on-brand
- Collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and cross-functional partners to bring campaigns, launches, and key moments to life
- Incorporate user-generated content (UGC) and community insights into content in partnership with the Community Manager
- Track content performance to understand what resonates, and use those insights to continually evolve the social approach
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and platform changes
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas and concepts
What We Are Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience creating content for social media platforms
- Strong understanding of short-form video and platform-native storytelling
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable moving quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn and grow
- Passionate about social media, digital culture, and the outdoors
- Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with content management systems and social media scheduling tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with video production and editing software
- Knowledge of social media advertising and paid social media campaigns
- Experience with influencer marketing and partnerships
- Certification in social media marketing or a related field
