About the Role

The Social Media Manager position at Perplexity is a unique opportunity to expand the company's online presence and build a strong brand voice across multiple platforms. As a key member of the Communications and marketing team, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement social media strategies that drive engagement and growth. The role is primarily focused on Instagram, with additional responsibilities on Reddit and other community platforms.

What You Will Do

  • Run social channels day-to-day, maintaining the brand and product accounts across all platforms
  • Set the social strategy, deciding and executing how to grow each account, what to post, and how to measure success
  • Scale team accounts, helping employees post in the company voice and grow the presence across platforms
  • Build and moderate community, engaging on Reddit and in developer communities, and representing Perplexity where users already are
  • Adapt and ship fast, partnering with Comms and marketing, PMs, founders, and engineers in a fast-paced launch environment
  • Develop and implement content calendars, ensuring consistent and high-quality content across all platforms
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize engagement and growth
  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and engaging content
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the company's online presence

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience running social media for a brand, ideally in the tech and AI industry
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to write for different audiences and platforms
  • Native fluency on Instagram and LinkedIn, with a track record of growing an account
  • Demonstrated experience being entrusted with a brand voice, with the ability to write for different voices and platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with social media management tools, such as Adjust and Excel
  • Strong understanding of the tech industry, with a passion for innovation and creativity

Nice to Have

  • Experience running or moderating a developer or technical community
  • Experience writing on behalf of leadership or other voices
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning, with a strong understanding of the latest trends and developments
  • Experience with paid social media advertising, with the ability to develop and implement effective campaigns
