About the Role
The Social Media Manager will play a critical role in shaping Supabase's online presence and engaging with its developer community. This is a unique opportunity to work with a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the way developers build and interact with Postgres. As a key member of the Marketing & DevRel team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that resonates with technical audiences.Supabase is a remote-first company, and as such, you will be working closely with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and marketers to amplify the company's message and grow its online presence. What You Will Do
- Own and grow Supabase's social media accounts, including Twitter, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that drives engagement and follower growth
- Create original content, including tweets, threads, shorts, memes, and visual posts that resonate with technical audiences
- Engage with the developer community, responding to comments, joining conversations, and building relationships with key stakeholders
- Monitor trends, conversations, and sentiment across developer Twitter to identify opportunities for timely, relevant content
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to amplify launches, features, and milestones
- Champion the Supabase brand voice, ensuring that all social media content is sharp, developer-native, and fun
- Analyze social media metrics to inform future content and engagement strategies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and platform changes
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5+ years of experience managing social media accounts for a developer-focused or technical product
- Proven track record of growing an audience on Twitter and other social media platforms
- Strong understanding of developer culture, memes, and the nuances of how technical audiences engage on social media
- Ability to write in a voice that feels native to developer Twitter, including being concise, witty, and technically credible
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, async environment with a globally distributed team
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to navigate both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with social media management tools, including scheduling and analytics software
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to inform future content and engagement strategies
Nice to Have
- Experience working with open-source communities or contributing to open-source projects
- Familiarity with Supabase's products and services, including Postgres and other developer tools
- Experience with content creation, including graphic design, video production, or writing
- Knowledge of SEO principles and how to optimize social media content for search
