About the Role

The Social Media Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in leading the promotional campaign for Bublik, a short film heading into the festival circuit. This is a unique opportunity to work with a cinematic video production studio and shape the social media strategy for a film that is set to make a significant impact in the industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cinematic and editorial aesthetics, as well as the ability to grow visibility and engagement across multiple social media platforms.

The role will involve working closely with the director and production team to develop a distinctive voice and visual identity for the film, as well as planning and scheduling content to maximize its reach. The successful candidate will be self-directed, comfortable owning a campaign end-to-end, and have a genuine taste for cinematic and editorial aesthetics.

As a key member of the team, the Social Media Marketing Specialist will be responsible for tracking performance, adjusting the strategy as needed, and ensuring that the campaign is aligned with the film's tone and style. This is a freelance/contract position, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for Bublik across Instagram and other relevant platforms
  • Create and curate high-quality content, including teasers, stills, behind-the-scenes footage, and talent features
  • Plan and schedule content in advance, using tools like Hootsuite or Buffer to streamline the process
  • Track engagement and performance metrics, using analytics tools to inform future content decisions
  • Collaborate with the director and production team to ensure that the social media campaign is aligned with the film's overall marketing strategy
  • Coordinate with the film's talent and crew to gather assets and messaging for social media
  • Develop a distinctive voice and visual identity for the film's social media presence
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing
  • Adjust the social media strategy as needed, based on performance data and feedback from the team
  • Ensure that all social media content is consistent with the film's tone and style

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in the film or arts/culture industry
  • A track record of success in growing visibility and engagement on social media platforms
  • A deep understanding of cinematic and editorial aesthetics, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in a social media context
  • Experience with social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Buffer
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with a team
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning a campaign end-to-end
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track performance and adjust the strategy as needed
  • Familiarity with the film festival circuit and the types of content that perform well in this context
