About the Role

The Software Delivery Manager position at GE Vernova is a critical component of the company's mission to revolutionize the energy sector through innovative monitoring and control solutions. As a key member of the WAMS Services team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of software solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution. The role involves managing and executing software deployment, configuration, and operational testing, as well as optimizing the deployment process and coordinating with DevOps teams.

The WAMS Services team operates at the forefront of power system stability and Wide Area Monitoring, Protection and Control (WAMPAC), delivering and supporting solutions that enable power system owners and operators to increase grid flexibility, integrate more low-carbon energy sources, and improve system security. As a Software Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of these initiatives, leveraging your technical expertise to overcome complex challenges and push the boundaries of what is possible.

What You Will Do

  • Deploy enterprise software solutions, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Manage and execute software deployment, configuration, and operational testing
  • Identify and resolve software and related IT issues within deployment projects
  • Optimize the deployment process, collaborating with DevOps teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate effective software delivery, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Perform and manage the deployment of interacting complex enterprise software and software dependencies
  • Build effective Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and track activity to update project managers on progress
  • Share responsibility for scope management, risk management, and problem management with the Project Manager
  • Trigger and validate engineering Gate Reviews (Solution, Factory Testing Readiness, Site Acceptance Readiness)
  • Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement and change management
  • Implement software delivery performance measurement indicators to drive competitiveness improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in software delivery management, preferably in the energy or technology sector
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience with IT infrastructures (e.g., High-Performance Storage Systems, IT Networks, OS/VM environments)
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to build effective Work Breakdown Structures and track activity
  • Experience with Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), or Distribution Management Systems (DMS) is desirable
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Experience with project execution control, including scope management, risk management, and problem management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues

Nice to Have

  • Experience with e-terra or Power On products
  • Knowledge of software delivery performance measurement indicators and competitiveness improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and agile methodologies
