Software Engineer, AI DevX

What You Will Do

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the AI ecosystem and evaluate emerging tools and technologies for adoption
• Drive the adoption of AI-powered coding tools and practices across the engineering organization
• Build platforms that enable developers to offload work to AI and empower AI to perform better
• Gather feedback from developers and iterate on solutions to improve developer velocity
• Grow AI vendor partnerships and serve as an advocate for Ramp's engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of AI-powered solutions
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and ensure alignment with company goals
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to help them develop their skills and expertise

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Deep backend engineering expertise spanning infrastructure, services, and data systems
• Python proficiency and strong Bash/Unix fundamentals
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Strong AI fluency and AI coding tool proficiency
• Obsession with productivity, automation, and optimization
• Prior experience working with AI-powered systems and tools
• Experience leading technical teams and owning technical roadmaps
• Strong collaborative instincts and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Active power user of AI coding agents
• Proven track record shipping and maintaining developer tools
• Demonstrated experience building AI-powered systems
• Experience with data engineering, frontend engineering, Docker, and Terraform
• Background in AI/ML and ability to read and understand AI research papers
