About the Role
The Software Engineer Android position at Superhuman is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team that is redefining the mobile experience. As an Android Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building new features and capabilities that elevate the Superhuman Android experience to a world-class standard. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the Product, Design, and Machine Learning teams to bring new ideas from concept to production, contributing to the evolving architecture of our mobile products, and diagnosing performance bottlenecks to deliver a delightful user experience.The role is part of Superhuman's Mobile Team, which is tasked with creating seamless and intuitive mobile experiences. What You Will Do
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Machine Learning teams to bring new ideas from concept to production
- Contribute to the evolving architecture of our mobile products, ensuring exceptional responsiveness and performance
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks, identify bugs, and drive improvements to deliver a delightful user experience
- Tackle real-world communication challenges our users face daily, significantly enhancing how people communicate on mobile devices
- Develop and maintain features for apps published in the Google Play Store
- Lead projects and/or a small team of engineers, guiding them towards achieving project goals
- Work with Kotlin, utilizing your strong experience in modern Android development patterns
- Apply solid knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Optimize memory and performance for Android, ensuring a seamless user experience
- Utilize Kotlin Coroutines and Flow to enhance app functionality
- Write and maintain unit tests and instrumentation tests to ensure high-quality releases
- Integrate and consume RESTful APIs, expanding the app's capabilities
- Automate builds, testing, and deployment processes using Mobile CI/CD systems
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and maintaining features for apps published in the Google Play Store
- Experience with owning and leading projects and/or a small team of engineers
- Strong experience in Kotlin and modern Android development patterns, such as MVVM
- Solid experience with the Android SDK and commonly used Jetpack libraries
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Skill in multithreading and optimizing memory and performance for Android
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
- Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit tests and instrumentation tests
- Experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with Mobile CI/CD systems
