What You Will Do

• Find new sources of audio data and bring them into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform
• Collaborate closely with scientists to improve the cost, throughput, and quality of data
• Deliver richer data at a larger scale and lower cost to power next-generation models
• Craft the AI Team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify's next-generation consumer and enterprise products
• Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to achieve company goals
• Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through strong written and verbal skills
• Participate in the development of the company's data infrastructure and acquisition strategies
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data infrastructure and acquisition

What We Are Looking For

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working in a distributed team environment
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies

Nice to Have

• Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Beam or Apache Spark
• Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts
• Experience with containerization using Docker
• Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience working with large datasets and data pipelines
