## About the Role As a Software Engineer at Thatch, you will play a critical role in the company's mission to revolutionize the way health benefits work. You will be part of the Product Engagement team, responsible for designing, building, and shipping full-stack features that drive activation and engagement. The Product Engagement team is responsible for owning and improving core product flows related to onboarding, activation, and enrollment. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will work closely with cross-functional partners, including product, design, and engineering, to ship solutions that directly impact the customer experience. Your day-to-day work will involve building and shipping full-stack features, from backend services to user-facing interfaces, as well as instrumenting product surfaces to understand user behavior and identify opportunities for improvement.

## What You Will Do - Own and improve core product flows related to onboarding, activation, and enrollment - Build and ship full-stack features, from backend services to user-facing interfaces - Instrument product surfaces to understand user behavior and identify opportunities for improvement - Design, test, and iterate on changes that improve conversion - Work closely with cross-functional partners to ship solutions - Contribute to systems that support engagement and lifecycle messaging - Collaborate with the product and design teams to develop and refine the product roadmap - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall codebase - Troubleshoot and debug issues, and work with the engineering team to resolve them - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve the product and the engineering practice

## What We Are Looking For - Experience building and shipping production web applications across the stack - Strong product judgment and comfort working through ambiguity - Ability to reason about user behavior and use data to inform decisions - Experience owning features end-to-end - Track record of cross-functional collaboration and good technical decision-making - Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, and TailwindCSS - Experience with Mixpanel, Segment, and Braze - Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
