Software Engineer, Growth Platform

About the Role

The growth engineering team is responsible for building and scaling internal platforms and applications that power growth across the company. This includes workflow orchestration, incentives, sales, and marketing apps. As a software engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of technical challenges, from designing and maintaining data ingestion and activation pipelines to applying AI and machine learning models to drive business outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Build software that helps grow Ramp to its next millions of users
• Design and maintain data ingestion and activation pipelines across Ramp products, internal business systems, external systems, and third-party data
• Apply AI and machine learning models to drive business outcomes, including unstructured data processing, automation, personalization, and growth signal derivation
• Drive business outcomes through experiments and metric-driven software development
• Make thoughtful prioritization and scoping decisions around when to build custom solutions vs. leverage third-party tools
• Work in a fast-moving, collaborative engineering team alongside partners in product, data, and design
• Build and scale internal platforms and applications, including workflow orchestration, incentives, sales, and marketing apps
• Partner with stakeholders across growth, sales, and finance to drive business outcomes and shape the growth engine of Ramp
• Design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions that meet the needs of Ramp's growing customer base

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software development role
• Experience shipping fast, reliable applications using modern development tools and infrastructure
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving startup environment
• Ability to improvise and develop creative solutions when standard approaches fall short
• Perpetual curiosity and a passion for continuously improving your craft
• Strong understanding of software development principles, including system design, testing, and documentation
• Experience with modern data stacks, including ETL tools, workflow orchestrators, and data platforms
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning models, including natural language processing and computer vision
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team

Nice to Have

• Startup experience as a technical co-founder or early engineer
• Experience with the modern data stack, including tools like Fivetran, Airflow, and Snowflake
• Experience applying AI and machine learning models in production environments
• Strong perspective on the engineering development lifecycle, including system design, testing, and long-term codebase health
• Experience building user-facing data or internal business applications
