## About the Role As a Software Engineer on the Money Platform, International team at Ramp, you will play a crucial role in building the infrastructure that powers the company's expansion into global markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing and implementing payment systems that can handle multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory regimes. You will be part of a team that is responsible for launching new markets from scratch and maturing existing systems to support the company's growth.
The Money Platform, International team is at the forefront of Ramp's international expansion, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the company's ability to serve customers beyond the US. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including compliance, product, and operations, to ensure that the platform meets all necessary requirements.

## What You Will Do - Design and implement payment infrastructure that can handle multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory regimes - Develop multi-currency accounting and reconciliation systems at scale - Integrate with international banking systems and payment rails, such as SEPA, BACS, and SWIFT - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate complex regional requirements and ensure compliance - Take ownership of problems end-to-end, from architecture to production reliability to partner integrations - Participate in the development of new features and functionalities that support the company's growth - Work closely with the product team to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs - Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of payment processes - Develop and maintain technical documentation of the platform and its components - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall code quality
## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering in high-scale production environments - Strong systems design skills, with the ability to take ambiguous requirements and build reliable, maintainable solutions - Experience working in fast-moving environments with high ambiguity and independent ownership - Comfort with distributed systems, performance optimization, and production reliability - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple teams - Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ - Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns - Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
## Nice to Have - Experience in fintech, payments, or capital markets, with knowledge of international payment rails, FX, and multi-currency ledgers - Familiarity with financial concepts, such as multi-currency accounting, reconciliation, and cross-border compliance - Experience integrating with third-party financial APIs or international banking partners - Interest in or exposure to international regulatory environments and compliance requirements
