Job Description

About the Role

The Software Engineer, iOS Core Product role at Speechify is a key position that will play a critical part in the development and maintenance of the company's iOS app. As a member of the product team, you will be responsible for actively shipping production code, participating in product discussions, and maintaining the existing complex app architecture. With the app being the #18 productivity app in the App Store category and recently recognized as Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, this is an exciting time to join the team and contribute to the company's mission of making reading more accessible to everyone.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on products that have scaled to a large user base, a track record of working on various products from inception to decent traction, and a customer-obsessed mindset. What You Will Do

  • Lead key engineering and product decisions to drive the growth and development of the iOS app
  • Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app, collaborating with the development team to ensure high-quality code
  • Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap and ensure alignment with the company's mission
  • Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop UI/UX designs that delight users and drive engagement
  • Work closely with the QA team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the highest quality product
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the stability and reliability of the app
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in iOS development, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the app
  • Collaborate with the product team to prioritize and plan the product roadmap

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working on iOS apps, with a strong understanding of Swift, SwiftUI, and Multithreading Programming
  • Track record of working on products that have scaled to a large user base, with a customer-obsessed mindset
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD infrastructure, with experience working with Fastlane and Git
  • Experience with SOLID principles, with the ability to write high-quality code that is maintainable and scalable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies, with a strong understanding of iterative development and continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions
