What You Will Do
- Build and own backend product capabilities for Stytch's identity platform on Twilio, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into product capabilities, and deliver high-impact roadmap features.
- Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives.
- Operate with deep technical ownership, authoring design docs, driving key technical decisions, reviewing code, and staying close to the systems you ship.
- Build in ambiguity, breaking down complex problems, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and designing developer experiences that delight customers.
- Improve production quality and resilience through strong observability, incident response, and remediation.
- Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge-sharing, helping raise the team's technical bar and culture.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in Stytch's products.
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud-based production systems.
- Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards and writing high-quality code.
- Extensive experience with backend APIs, cloud-based systems, and identity products.
- Strong technical ownership and leadership skills, with the ability to drive key technical decisions and mentor other engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and design elegant solutions.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for delivering secure, developer-first identity experiences and a commitment to innovation and improvement.

- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
