Job Description
About the Role
The Onboarding team at Ramp is responsible for developing the product flows and platform that power new customer account creation. This includes working on Ramp's application decisioning system, which interfaces with fraud, compliance, and credit underwriting models. As a software engineer on this team, you will own workstreams that expand Ramp's total serviceable market and improve the end-to-end customer onboarding experience.The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including product, data, and design teams, as well as sales, marketing, risk strategy, operations, and finance teams. This offers a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on Ramp's growth trajectory. What You Will Do
- Build software to grow Ramp to its next millions of users
- Scale the output of the application decisioning ops team through automation and AI assistance
- Drive business outcomes through metric-driven software development
- Own the customer journey from discovering and applying to Ramp through getting approved for and onboarding to the product
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate Ramp's growth
- Develop creative solutions to complex technical problems
- Work with modern development tools and infrastructure to build fast and reliable applications
- Participate in the design and implementation of new features and systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Contribute to the improvement of the overall onboarding experience
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a software development role
- Experience shipping fast, reliable applications using modern development tools and infrastructure
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly improving, start-up environment
- Ability to improvise and develop creative solutions when common approaches fail
- Strong value of pragmatism over idealism in times of uncertainty
- Perpetual curiosity and passion for honing your craft
- Experience with Python (Flask) and SQL
- Strong understanding of software development principles and patterns
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment

- Fintech or payments experience (credit underwriting, risk, compliance)
