Software Engineer, Product Backend (8+ YOE)

About the Role

The complexity of the use cases requires careful consideration of design and implementation to ensure that the product is both easy to use and maintainable. You will have the opportunity to work on high-impact teams, such as the Monetization Team or the Enterprise Solutions Team, driving user engagement, revenue, and delivering foundational building blocks for enterprise builders.

What You Will Do

• Design and build systems to dramatically increase scalability and performance of applications built on Airtable.
• Work at the deep backend of the Airtable software stack within the Enterprise Product portion of the org.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand user needs and build products that unlock their potential.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to create innovative new features.
• Own and execute the end-to-end implementation of new features.
• Build polished, user-facing features and run experiments to shape product direction.
• Maintain systems that power billing and purchasing.
• Leverage AI to personalize the user journey.
• Play a key role in helping users discover and unlock the full value of Airtable.
• Deliver foundational building blocks and collaboration primitives for enterprise builders.
• Ensure experience quality and user delight across the Airtable product.

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in designing and building scalable and performant systems.
• Experience with collaborative platforms and understanding of user-centric design principles.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, contributing to both backend and frontend aspects of the product.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and patterns.
• Experience with AI and machine learning technologies to enhance user experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components.
• Passion for driving innovation and delivering high-quality solutions.
