As a Software Engineer focusing on product frontend development, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative features that enhance customer experience and contribute to the success of Airtable's toolkit. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with customers to understand their needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, design, research, and data science, and owning the end-to-end implementation of new features.The role is part of Airtable's commitment to delivering powerful and user-friendly solutions, and as such, you will be working on the foundational building blocks and collaboration primitives that enable builders to leverage AI for creation, collaboration, and scaling. The Enterprise Solutions Team, in particular, focuses on ensuring that the largest enterprises have robust, AI-first primitives that can solve any problem users might face, emphasizing experience quality and user delight across the Airtable product.
Airtable operates with a hybrid working model, combining the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-office collaboration. Currently, the company is looking for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, or the greater Seattle area, with the expectation of regular in-office collaboration for those in San Francisco and New York.
What You Will Do
- Spec and build product features that are aesthetically pleasing, consistent, and fast, encouraging exploration and earning the trust of customers through predictable interactions.
- Work across all levels of the stack, from AWS, Node.js, and SQL to React, HTML, and CSS, to build and maintain end-to-end products on Airtable.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand user needs and unlock their potential with the product.
- Collaborate with a talented group of engineers from diverse backgrounds, contributing to and learning from the team.
- Engage in spec'ing and building new product features that contribute to the power and success of Airtable's toolkit.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new features, ensuring they meet customer needs and align with Airtable's goals.
- Work on delivering high-quality software that meets Airtable's standards for excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing features, ensuring they remain robust and efficient.
What We Are Looking For
- Approximately 2-8 years of industry experience in modern full-stack web development, with a particular emphasis on user-facing feature development and full-stack, frontend-leaning work.
- Fluency in one or more frontend and backend technologies, with an interest in programming in JavaScript and React.
- Excitement about a product-oriented full-stack or frontend role and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centric products.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment, with cross-functional teams, to deliver complex products or features.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach challenges with a logical and methodical mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with customers.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, Node.js, and SQL, as well as React, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of design principles and user experience best practices.
- Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects that demonstrate your skills and interests.
