About the Role

The Software Engineer - Security Engineering role at Plaid is a critical position that focuses on developing and maintaining the company's security infrastructure and services. As a key member of the Security Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions to protect sensitive consumer data and ensure the security of Plaid's infrastructure. The Security Engineering team at Plaid is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's security-related infrastructure, including secure data storage, key management systems, internal identity platforms, and internal authentication systems. As a Software Engineer in this team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing solutions for data encryption and key management to building and maintaining the company's internal authentication and authorization systems.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain secure software systems and services to protect sensitive consumer data
  • Design and implement technical solutions to align with the evolving needs of the business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of Plaid's infrastructure and services
  • Consult with product engineers to ensure Plaid services meet security standards
  • Develop and maintain Plaid's security infrastructure and services, including Key Management System and Secure Token Service
  • Assist with Plaid's incident response and security awareness programs
  • Communicate effectively with managers and team members regarding project deliverables and progress
  • Actively participate in incident response and security awareness initiatives
  • Develop and maintain documentation for security systems and services
  • Collaborate with other security platform members to build necessary engineering solutions
