Job Description

About the Role

The Surfaces team at Planetscale is seeking a Software Engineer to join their ranks. This team is responsible for all user-facing UIs, CLIs, and APIs, including the PlanetScale dashboard, APIs, and billing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work on app.planetscale.com, the central control plane for every PlanetScale database
  • Develop across languages, including Go, React + TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails
  • Learn and understand Vitess and Postgres deeply
  • Build, document, and publish RESTful APIs
  • Work on internal admin tools to assist engineers and support teams

Requirements

  • Passion for deeply understanding user problems and building UIs and APIs to solve them
  • High personal bar for user experiences
  • Enjoy shipping quickly and iterating on solutions based on customer feedback
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
